Gold Award!
Hurrah, We have won A gold Award in The Taste of The West Awards! Yet more proof that our duck eggs are the best in the Universe!
Look out for our next project coming soon!!
money, money,and more money!!
i haven’t written for along time but every thing has been so busy what with going Majorca, sats exams, end of term and looking after the ducks. The holiday was fab, sats are best forgotten and end of term was a bit sad. I’m off to Okehampton school in September and most of my friends go to Crediton, but we have lots of fun with trips to Woodlands in the last week.
Mum complains that she spends all the time packing and delivering eggs as we keep selling out. We think she should be pleased to be making money but mum and dad complain that the food is so expensive at the moment that we need to sell lots. The eggs we sell from the door we have a tin to keep the money and we are planning some trips to spend it. On the fridge we have a list of places we want to go. Now we have Blue Peter badges we can get in some places free (!!hurrah) so soon we hope to go to the Eden Project.
Yesterday we went to Salisbury to see our cousins sing in the Cathedral Choir. It was good but loud (percy had his hands over her ears) and harold fell asleep. They have to practice alot, not sure that i would like it!
It’s pouring with rain again in Devon which is great for ducks, but not much fun collecting the eggs. Hopefully Fleur our french student will offer!
Lots of Eggs!
lots of eggs and all the little ducks laying!!!there are so many we are litrly being squished by all the crates of eggs. but the good thing is there all selling! We have a new Stockists, Darts Farm at Topsham, that win the prize for the most sales in the first week!
so if you ever find yourself in Topsham be sure to drop in at Darts farm and buy my eggs and sample some of the other food!!!!!!!
Here’s a new seasonal recipe:
Elsa’s organic duck egg with English asparagus soldiers
picture
To make this really easy dish all you need to do is bring a pan of water to the boil, add Elsa’s organic duck egg and boil it for 6 minutes for a soft, creamy yolk. You should really use a separate pan for the asparagus, again bringing the water up to the boil then adding the asparagus once you’ve trimmed the woody ends, then boiling it for about 3 minutes. Remove the asparagus from the pan, cut the top off the egg, add a little sea salt and voilà – a sublime lunch for one.
It’s loooovly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elsa's organic duck eggs

Anyhow the ducks are laying well with 250 eggs yesterday!!!!!! We have lots of young ducks that are just starting to lay their first eggs. The eggs are tiny sometimes!
